Artificial Inteligence


1. INTRODUCTION


This policy sets out how Millward, May & Co Limited uses Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) tools to support our work. Our priority is to maintain the highest professional, ethical, and confidentiality standards while exploring technology that can improve efficiency and client service.


2. Scope


This policy applies to all staff, contractors, and representatives of Millward, May & Co Limited. It covers the use of AI tools in any part of our work, including research, drafting, data analysis, and internal administration.


3. Guiding Principles


Human Oversight: All outputs from AI tools are reviewed by a human before being used in client work.

Confidentiality: Client data will never be entered into public AI systems that may retain or reuse information.

Accuracy: AI is used as a support tool only. Professional judgement and regulatory compliance remain paramount.

Compliance: Use of AI will comply with GDPR, the ICAEW Code of Ethics, and other relevant regulations.


4. Acceptable Use


AI tools may be used for:

  • Drafting non-sensitive communications

  • Internal research and technical summaries

  • Automating routine administrative tasks

AI tools must not be used for:

  • Uploading or processing sensitive client data in public systems

  • Producing final financial statements, tax computations, or audit conclusions without human review

  • Making independent decisions on behalf of clients


5. Accountability


Millward, May & Co Limited accepts full responsibility for all work provided to clients. AI tools are only aids; accountability remains with the human accountant.
